Bloody hell!!! How did this happen? I made a comment and then Dave's passed me by and appeared first... This blog has a mind of its own or what?
Nah, it was only tha old joke, u know. There's another saying in America that goers like this: "The band is as good as the drummer" - and that's absofuckinglutely right! A friend of mine, a piano player who has studied music at the same scholl with members of bloody boring Dream Theater has told me that. And I agree. All the great bands had excellent drummers: Queen, The Clash, Blur, Free, Nirvana, Limp Bizkit [ok I know u hate them, but the drummer and Wes Borland are amazing!!!], System Of A Down, even the Sex Pistols not to mention funk bands from the 70s. Anyhoo, that's just a point. I don't think you can make it on the big level without a solid rhythm section. Take Nine Inch Nails for example... Oops... Trent uses drums machines, rhythm boxes, and lots of programming... :-)
Cheers - Hey Sam, i hope u did get the joke and u r not offended, right?
